Regis University, located in beautiful Denver, Colorado, is excited to announce that applications for the Master of Science in Environmental Biology (M.S. Environmental Biology) are now open for the 2025-2026 academic year. Over the past nine years, this program has been preparing students for successful careers in the environmental and ecological workforce.
Why Choose Regis University’s M.S. in Environmental Biology Program?
Our program stands out from traditional, thesis-based master’s programs by focusing on practical skills that are highly sought after by employers in ecosystem management. Here’s how we make our program unique:
- Skills-Based Curriculum:
- We emphasize applied skills in GIS, statistical computing in R, professional writing, environmental policy, wetland delineation, and advanced ecology. These are the very skills employers seek in today’s environmental professionals.
- Field-Based Research Opportunities:
- Students complete a 100-hour internship with an external agency, giving them real-world experience. In addition, our cohort-based field research project with ecosystem managers—such as those from Denver Mountain Parks—allows students to engage in hands-on, collaborative research.
- Flexible Timeline:
- Whether you’re looking to fast-track your education or balance it with other life commitments, our program offers the flexibility to earn your degree in as little as one year or take up to three years to complete the coursework at your own pace.
- Small Class Sizes and Cohort Experience:
- Our small class sizes foster a close-knit learning community. You’ll have the opportunity to form meaningful relationships with fellow students and professors, who are dedicated to guiding you along your unique career path.
Graduate Success and Career Readiness:
Our alumni consistently report that the program’s focus on applied skills has been instrumental in their success. Not only do program experiences enrich their resumes, but the knowledge and hands-on experience gained make them highly competitive in the job market. Within a few months of graduation, many of our graduates secure positions in a variety of roles across the governmental, private, and non-profit sectors.
