Position Overview:
The Rober Lab at The Ohio State University is inviting applications for a PhD Graduate Research Assistantship to work on an NSF-funded project that aims to connect microbial community composition and ecological functioning within aquatic ecosystems. The research will focus on how microbial functions scale up to influence broader ecosystem processes. The position will involve the use of molecular techniques and bioinformatics to investigate microbial communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct molecular sampling in natural environments.
- Perform sample preparation and apply bioinformatics techniques to analyze microbial data.
- Study microbial functions and their impact on ecosystem processes.
- Collaborate with lab members and other research teams.
